Steve Phillips has extensive experience of acting as an expert witness before Courts and Tribunals. His specialist area is the reconciliation of residential Landlord and Tenant service charge disputes for major repairs and regeneration contracts, particularly where the Landlord is a Borough Council or Housing Association.

When acting for Landlords Steve provides a variety of advice ranging from whether or not the Landlords costs have been reasonably incurred to providing the content and format of statutory consultation notices.

When acting for long leaseholders Steve’s advice normally focuses upon providing an opinion as to the quality of the finished work and reconciling the final service charge invoice amount against the actual works carried out by the Landlord and the final account produced by the Landlord’s contractor.

He also acts as an expert witness on general building disputes and contractual procedures by preparing technical reports on construction defects, extensions of time, breaches of warranty and delay.
