PARTY WALL

Rebuild The ‘Party Wall Act etc Act 1996’ came into force on the 1 st July 1997. It applies to every type of owner of land within England and Wales with very few exceptions. But how many owners know of the implications of the Act? Very few in our experience.

The Party Wall Act affects owners of property who intend to carry out building work on or near walls separating a property from an adjoining owner and owners of property adjacent to proposed building work. This may include:

The demolition of an existing building
The erection or extension of a building
The alteration or refurbishment of a building.

Steve Phillips was the CIOB/Thomas Telford Tutor on the ‘Party Wall etc Act 1996’ and he now provides a comprehensive Party Wall Act service including technical advice and service of Party Structure Notices to agreement of any awards.
